Too little too late on paternity leaveDR ROWENA HOLLAND CAMPAIGNS TO CLEAN UP WOLLATON'S PAVEMENTS
UPDATE: Whilst out in Wollaton over the weekend we were pleased to hear about the council sending out street sweepers in the area on Thursday and Friday following my article in the Evening Post. I am glad that the council are heeding calls for Wollaton East to be cleaned up, and although this is an exciting first step, I will be continuing to campaign for waste bins to be placed in the area. ....MORE >>

Firstly I would like to say how shocked I have been at the scenes of devastation and fatalities in Haiti following the recent earthquake, as everyone was. However, the outpouring of support from nations around the globe has been very impressive and we should continue to help in anyway possible. The Disasters Emergency Committee, an umbrella group of 13 leading British NGOs, has launched an appeal and donations can be made via www.dec.org.uk or by calling 0370 60 60 900. The time is fast approaching when Britain is going to be given a choice: a choice between the consistent failings and deception of a worn out Labour Party or the integrity of a Conservative Government that trusts the British people to control their own lives. Labour believe that they know what’s best for Britain and dictate our lives from Westminster, determining how our schools, police and hospitals should operate using unhelpful and outdated Government targets together with endless paperwork and quangos.
The Conservative Party believes that local people know what their local area needs and that control should be given back from Westminster to our communities. Local Teachers and headmasters should be allowed to decide on the best way to deliver our children’s education and have the power to instil discipline back into their classrooms. Local Doctors should have the freedom to decide what their community’s healthcare needs are and how best to fulfil them. Local Police should be the ones to decide what Nottingham needs to make its streets safer, not faceless bureaucrats in London.
You will have a clear choice at the General Election and I hope that as a resident of Nottingham South, you will choose real and lasting change by voting for me, as your Conservative Candidate, to represent you honestly and with integrity in Parliament. We have the opportunity to bring about a new era of change for this city and for our country and by taking collective responsibility and working to develop the society that we want to live in, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
